Every year Australians donate billions to charities — but the most basic question, "where does my money actually go?", is hard to answer for any single donor with the time to dig.
The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission publishes most of the data needed. It is comprehensive, free, and re-usable under Creative Commons. What it doesn't do is bring it together with computed transparency signals, comparable scores across causes, and a single search bar that handles charity names, ABNs and misspellings.
That's what we do. We import the ACNC charity register and Annual Information Statements weekly, compute a five-dimension transparency score for every registered charity, and surface the underlying data — financials, governance, enforcement actions — on a single profile per charity, with primary-source links to verify everything.
What we are and aren't
We are a research and data site. We are not the ACNC, not a regulator, not a fundraiser. We do not accept payment from charities for placement, ranking, or removal — and never will.
Our scores are derived facts, not professional or financial advice. They are intended to start a question, not end one. The full methodology is published, and we welcome corrections via our complaints page.
